Kwame Nkrumah (1909–1972) was Ghana's first Prime Minister and President, leading the country to independence from British rule in 1957. He was a prominent Pan-Africanist and advocated for socialism and modernization. Despite being overthrown in 1966, his legacy as a key figure in African independence movements endures.
